EU and US development policies compared
30 Sep 2008
What are the main challenges and actions of the EU and U.S.’s development policies? Are there big strategic differences in their methods of tackling global poverty? Ambassador Danilovich, Chief Executive Officer for the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), will present the work of what has recently become the key U.S. Government agency for reducing poverty around the world. Maciej Popowski, the Director of the European Commission’s DG Development will discuss the EU priorities and challenges, with special regard to the new “budget support” strategy, and the importance of establishing coherent development policies to tackle global poverty efficiently.
