Shaping EU action against internet-related child sexual abuse
Eagerly-awaited EU proposals for revised legislation ‘on child sexual exploitation and child pornography’ are due to be published shortly. Will they match up to the challenge of realising children’s right to protection from abuse? This seminar, with the European NGO Alliance for Child Safety Online and the NSPCC, will bring together participants with experience from different countries to undertake a timely evaluation of whether European cooperation is progressing in the right direction, building on previous EU and Council of Europe initiatives. At a key moment in EU discussions, it will add to understanding of how Member State governments can achieve effective legislation and turn this into successful action against online child sexual abuse.
