Transatlantic Views on EU Security and Defence Policy

The establishment of a more cohesive European foreign, security and defence policy raises a number of concerns common to both the EU and the US: How can both the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) increase but not duplicate capabilities? How can defence capabilities in Europe be improved? Where can the US and EU find complementarities?
