The Centre

This event is a roundtable discussion on the place of organic farming in the EU's overall agricultural activities. This "Chatham House" discussion offered an opportunity to hear directly from key stakeholders involved. Speakers were Michael Mann, Spokesman for Commissioner for Agriculture Mariann Fischer Boel, Marco Schlüter, Director of the EU Regional Group of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements(IFOAM), Alex Avery, academic and author of "The Truth About Organic Foods" and James Ede, Assistant Director at the Brussels representation of the National Farmers Union (NFU). The session was co-chaired by Roger Waite, editor of Agrafacts and Carel du Marchie Sarvaas of The Centre.
